How:
Need a refresher on how to volunteer?
- Volunteer on one of the thousands of videos on Viki, by either subtitling or segmenting*!
- What can you win?
- The Top 500 Viki users with the highest number of contributions (subtitles and/or segments) during the event period will receive a special, limited-edition #1BillionWords badge!
- A number of participants will be randomly chosen to receive a special code good for one month of VikiPass!
- A number of participants will be randomly chosen to receive a Roku 3**!
- One user will be randomly chosen to win a new Macbook**!
- Winners will be contacted via email.
Need a refresher on how to volunteer?

- Get tips from our Volunteering discussion board.
- Head over to Project Finder, the Project Board, or the top of your profile to find a video that needs your help.
- As a courtesy, message the Channel Manager or respective language moderator to let them know you’re interested, and get started!
- Segmenting (setting the timing of the subtitles) and captioning (creating subtitles in the show’s original language) are great ways to contribute. Check out the top of your profile for video recommendations!
*NOTE:
- Inappropriate segmenting or subtitling, like the creation of use of a translator program (i.e. Google Translate) or copying subtitles from a non-Viki source, is strictly prohibited, and a violation of the Viki Community Guidelines. Such behavior will lead to disqualification.
- If you notice that the segmenting or subtitling guidelines are violated, please notify us, and our team can look into the matter.
