She says she has been able to overcome some of her anxiety by trying to see intimate situations from a positive perspective. Twelve years later, Dong Joo has become a successful surgeon, while Soo Wan has undergone a corneal transplant that has restored her sight and now works as an emergency 119 rescue worker. When the two meet again, Dong Joo doesn’t want Soo Wan to find out that she is able to see because of his mother’s donated eyes, so he pretends to have forgotten her. However, Soo Wan learns that Dong Joo has been recording his journal in the same mp3 player that Dong Joo used to use to tell Soo Wan stories when she was blind. Soo Wan finds out that Dong Joo never forgot about her, and confronts him at the airport right before he’s about to leave for the United States. See the touching moment below!
