We all love our fantasy, head-over-heels in love romantic dramas. But, sometimes, we need a change of pace. Or perhaps romantic comedies aren’t your thing. So we came up with a list of our favorite dramas that are not focused on romance as a central story line. Here are our favorites.
IRIS
This drama is a fast-paced action thriller about a South Korean secret agent accused of being a terrorist. Along the way, he teams up with a North Korean secret agent as they work together to uncover the truth behind who may have framed both of them.
Doctor-X
This Japanese medical drama tells the tale of a beautiful, yet headstrong female surgeon who isn’t afraid to change the rules of the game, even if it means speaking up when everyone else is afraid to talk.
Darna
This Philippine fantasy drama chronicles the story of a super heroine named Darna as she attempts to take down her arch nemesis, Valentina!
Falling Skies
A recent American sci-fi series directed by the legendary Steven Spielberg, “Falling Skies” tells the story of life after a post-apocalyptic alien attack renders Earth into nothing more than a survival of the fittest!
Two Weeks
This suspenseful Korean drama centers on a man who is falsely accused of murder shortly after discovering that he has a daughter suffering from leukemia and he alone can save her. Can he keep himself alive and stay out of jail for two weeks until his daughter’s surgery date?
Scandal: A Shocking and Wrongful Incident
