Be a Better Kisser With These 8 Tips From Dramas

0
0
Hurray, its almost Valentines Day! And what better way to get into a romantic mood than to relive the most memorable kissing scenes from our favorite dramas? If youre looking for some kissing tips before the big day, weve gathered these eight dos and donts from some of the hottest kissing scenes in recent dramas.

Do: Catch your special someone completely by surprise, like Xiao Shu (played by Annie Chen) did in Love Around. This shower just got extra steamy!

Dont: Force things if the person you like doesnt feel the same way. Oh Young (played by Song Hye Gyo) was clearly not buying what Oh Soo (played by Jo In Sung) was selling in Episode 13 of That Winter, The Wind Blows. Take a hint!

Do: Use your hands, like Joong Won (played by So Ji Sub) in this dramatic, world-turning kiss in Master’s Sun.

Dont: Yank your partner like a rag doll. Geon Woo (played by TaecYeon) in Who Are You?, we know youre strong, but theres no need to show off!

Do: Smile, to show that theres nowhere else youd rather be. The cuteness is overflowing in this tender kiss scene from I Hear Your Voice.

Dont: Frown and squeeze your eyes closed, as if you just bit into a sour lemon. Park Shin Hye says she really enjoyed her kissing scenes with Lee Min Ho in Heirs, but she couldve fooled us!

Do: Let your emotions show, like Kouichi Aihara in Kimi Kiss. Your one true love (and your TV audience) will thank you for it!

Which girl did Kouichi finally choose in Kimi Kiss?

Don't: Pretend like it was an accident and pull away, like the characters played by Park Shi Hoo and Moon Geun Young in Cheongdam-dong Alice. We all know what's going on between you two!

We see you puckering up for that "Oops!" kiss, Park Shi Hoo!

We hope these drama kissers taught you a few pointers. If you keep these dos and donts in mind, youre bound to leave your date wondering, Wow, is this real life or a drama?

In honor of Valentine's Day, we've prepared a video of all our favorite kisses of the past year. Feel the love! Note: The video below is available to viewers in the Americas.

Prince Lee Gak (played by Park) and his three attendants had to live in a rooftop apartment and wear comically bright-colored track suits as they tried to figure out how to return to their own time period!

How Well Do You Know Celebrity Six-Packs?

0
0
Drama fans watch their favorite series for the riveting storyline, the complex characters, and the exciting suspense. Its definitely not because of the steamy shower scenes, or other exhibitions of rampant six-packs that have overtaken the drama manscape.

You probably skip these scenes to move on to the real story, and you certainly don’t pause the scene to watch them again, like the following shower scene of Song Seung Heon in My Princess.

Gong Yoo discovers his chocolate abs in Big.
So even if you don’t pay attention to them at all, we want to test your Drama Six-Pack IQ. How many of the following celebrities can you identify just by looking at their six-packs?

Let the games begin!

1. Who owns this tastefully-tan torso?

2. How many crunches would it take to look like this?

3. Someone’s ready to take a dip; can we join?

4. If we subscribe to Men’s Health, do we get the man on the cover, too?

5. Is there any room for me in those jeans?

6. This boy-next-door on the beach stars in one of the best American comedy shows.

See the answers to these celebrity six-packs below. How many did you get right?

  1. Godfrey Gao of Never Give Up, Dodo!
  2. Jeon Ji Hyeon of My Love From the Star
  3. Jung Il Woo of Golden Rainbow
  4. Lee Beom Soo of The Prime Minister Is Dating
  5. Vanness Wu of Ti Amo Chocolate
  6. John Krasinski of The Office
Score Yourself!
  • 4 or more correct: You have a near photographic memory and probably have a Ph.D in Chocolate Ab-ology.
  • 2-3 correct: Your mental encyclopedia of abs should probably be expanded to include non-Korean six-packs! There is so much to see outside Seoul.
  • 1 or 0 correct: You need to watch more dramas to increase your Drama Six-Pack IQ so that you can score higher on our next test. We highly recommend When a Man Loves,” Heirs” and the currently airing “Inspiring Generation.

Special thanks to cornishpixie and the Beauty Queen Team at the Miss Korea channel for starting this great game!

10 Tips From Top Stars for Taking Great Selfies

0
0
So we have a confession to make  were guilty of the selfie. Selfie was Oxford Dictionarys 2013 Word of the Year, and in case you’ve been living under a rock, it means a picture you take of yourself to post onto social media. And during last night’s 86th Academy Awards, host Ellen DeGeneres grabbed a bunch of Hollywood celebs for the best selfie ever  it now has almost 3 million re-tweets (and counting, as of the time of this writing), making in the most re-tweeted Tweet of all time.

Love them or hate them, selfies are here to stay. So learn how to take them properly with these 10 great tips from top stars.

1. Find Your Light

Avoid backlighting (light streaming from behind you) and try to face the light. Natural light is the most flattering. When all else fails, use a filter. Flash is not your friend and you should avoid it if possible. Its harsh and can cause the dreaded red-eye.

Kim Woo Bin, star of Heirs and School 2013, takes a selfie that shows the power of good lighting.

Kim Woo Bin leans into the light

2. Grab a Friend

Whats better than sharing a great moment smiling with a friend? OK, so it totally helps if your friends are super good looking like Park Hyung Sik and Lee Min Ho from Heirs.

3. Hold the Camera Horizontally and Tilt It Downward 45 Degrees

This angle is very flattering on the body and will make you look slim. Cyndi Wang, star of the Taiwanese drama Second Life, makes this look easy. Bonus points for holding her arms away from her body; this trick will make you look skinnier!

4. Find Your Good Side

We all have our good side, so find yours and use it! Experiment with many different angles and head tilts to find your perfect pose. Try turning your head at a slight angle. Its usually more flattering than looking at the camera straight on (which can look kinda like a mugshot).

TaecYeon, star of the upcoming Korean drama Wonderful Days, highlights the importance of a good head tilt.

5. Put on Some Makeup

A little color can make your face pop! Jun Ji Hyun from My Love From the Star loves taking selfies in this drama.

I Hear Your Voice” co-stars Lee Bo Young and Lee Da Hee show off their pretty faces in these cute selfies. Lee Bo Young is also starring in the upcoming drama God's Gift.

6. Filter Friendly

Filters are your friend. They get rid of wrinkles and bags and help give you a glowing complexion. So use em.

The soft lighting filter that Mario Maurer, star of To Each a Flower, used here with Laila Boonyasak is very flattering and forgiving.

7. Clear the Clutter

A good, clean background is just as important as your gorgeous face. Make sure the photo focuses on you. While Aaron Yan has mastered his angelic smile, he forgot to check behind him to see his Just You co-star Puff Guophotobombing him.

Aaron Yan forgot to check his background for a photo bomb

8. If at First You Dont Succeed, Try Again

Take multiple selfies and pick the best one. Jang Geun Seuk, star of the K-drama Beautiful Man, loves a good selfie. So much so that he understands the need for multiples. He also loves sharing selfies from set with his fans, such as the one below wearing a uniform while filming Beautiful Man.

9. Repeat After Me: Do. Not. Duckface.

You think youre being all cute, but really no one looks cute like this. Be natural and smile.

We love you, Godfrey Gao (star of Never Give Up, Dodo), but lose the ducklips.

10. Have Fun

Lets be real — we will never look as gorgeous as some stars fresh faces, but we can still rock it. Be creative and have fun!

Office” co-stars John Krasinski and Craig Robinson are clearly having fun taking this selfie and it shows.

Let us know what your must-do rules are for taking selfies!

What If Spring Forward Meant Time Travel?

0
0
This Sunday, those of us in the United States will set our clocks one hour ahead for Daylight Saving Time. Waking up an hour earlier won’t be fun, but we can put the inconvenience in perspective by being grateful that it’s only one hour, and not hundreds of years!

Some of our friends on Viki are not so lucky. These unfortunate characters sometimes wake up to find that they are stranded in the past or in the future with no way to get back to their own time period. Here are some of our favorite recent time travel (or Daylight Saving time gone wrong?) stories.

Man Comes to Tang Dynasty

If you traveled back in time more than 1,000 years, what would you do? Would you use your knowledge of the future to predict events and create useful tools? That’s what Wang Zhi Hao (played by Zhang Jun Han) does in this funny Chinese web series, livening up the past with exciting “new” inventions like perfume and soccer!

History is turned upside down in ‘Man Comes to Tang Dynasty.’

God’s Gift — 14 Days

This Korean thriller premiered this week, taking a different approach to time travel. Through an encounter with the paranormal, a desperate mother (played by Lee Bo Young) is able to go back 14 days before her daughter’s murder to find the killer and stop the crime. You can see her in the suspenseful trailer below:

Lucky Days

On a more light-hearted note, Jen Hsiao Kuo (played by Chris Wang) is a a man who finds a software program that lets him “edit” his previous actions in this Taiwanese drama. Trying to delete his relationship mistakes, Hsiao Kuo ends up making things more complicated than they were before.

Chris Wang can ‘undo’ his mistakes in ‘Lucky Days.’
Time Slip of 10,000 Years: Prime Rose

This action-packed fantasy anime depicts a world 10,000 years in the future, where the cities of Dallas, Texas, and Kujukuri, Japan must go to war. Warrior princess Emiya takes on enemies from around the world with her magical sword, but will she ever be able to return home to her kingdom?

Rooftop Prince

Crown Prince Lee Gak (played by Park Yoochun) and three of his attendants accidentally travel from the Chosun Dynasty 300 years into the future to modern-day Seoul, landing in the rooftop apartment of an unsuspecting young woman. Hysterically out of their element, these young men fumble through modern society as they try to solve the murder of the prince’s young wife and return to the past.

Prince Lee Gak experiences a carnival game for the first time in Episode 3.
If you could time travel, what time period would you travel to? A few hours, or a few centuries? As we can see from the creative fantasy dramas above, time travel can be a blessing or a curse!

My Queen

Lipstick Jungle

Three best friends in New York City prove that they can be beautiful, successful and feminine. As they handle their high-pressure jobs and relationships, they always find time for their closest female friends. This show is based on a book by Sex and the City writer Candace Bushnell.

Red Cobex

Doctor-X
